Through My Eyes

Walking through the halls of life I sometimes wonder,
What do people see when they see me?
Do they look into my eyes, and see what I really mean?
I’m a person, I have feelings, I care what people say!
I go through life like everyone, slowly, day by day.

I was brought up in a loving home of encouragement and care.
My parents always told me that life wouldn’t be fair.
So I live each day to the fullest, have fun while I still can
Because someday it will be my time, to travel to the heavenly land.

I decided to not hate people, no matter what they choose.
Forgiveness is a virtue, though sometimes its hard to do.
I try to comfort people when they find they cannot smile.
Happiness is the key to life; it will carry you for miles.

I enjoy learning, and teaching others too.
Satisfaction grows from this; just like following something through.
I need someone to talk to, and to share my feelings with.
Without a faithful listener, I’d be an anchored ship.

That’s just a small part of who I am; there’s so much more to tell.
I think with my philosophies in life I will do well.
So if anyone ever wants to know the real me until the day I die,
All they have to do is look into my eyes.
